the beach in october.

i have no complaints.  october in boston can be downright dreary, but not this one.  it was in the 80's and we were ON THE BEACH.  IN BATHING SUITS.  IN OCTOBER.  it was awesome.  everyone was busy doing other things except william + i (and parker... he managed to work it into his schedule).  so the three of us took off for the beach.  glorious.  we brought along some drinks, and apples and pretzels and dip and sat for a few hours soaking in the sun before it goes away for the winter.  parker sat happily checking out the beach and listening to the waves, then ate, and slept.  he's a beach bum already!  then, we came home, turned on some bob marley, i opened myself a blueberry beer and made roasted brussel sprouts and an orzo veggie salad and steve put away his work for the night so we could just hang out.

it was a good day.

I thought about going to the beach on Monday. Too bad my company's a jerk and doesn't recognize most federal holidays. Sigh. Looks like a blast. I'm glad Parker could squeeze you guys in :)

Ohhh I am so jealous of your 80 degree October weather and your beach day. It's like 50 degrees and dreary here in Seattle. So so jealous!

Also brussel sprouts are my favorite - yum! Sounds like the best day!

You bathing suit is super cute--or as much of it as the pic shows is. What a great day!

PS I'm throwing a double baby shower for my sister and SIL on Sat and am using your trick of juice halved with seltzer, posted quite awhile ago, for the beverage. Tried it at home and loved it--my hubby especially. Thanks for the idea!

Ahh. What fun. I have been clinging to the last shreds of warm weather days here in the Midwest, and I fear they are quickly dwindling away.

I love your blog and found it through Jenny. However, if you mention blueberry beer one more time I'm gonna have to stop reading out of sheer jealousy! Omg, what I miss most about the north? Sea dogs blueberry beer, yum!

Sounds perfect with your two boys.

Can I be honest and say I hope I keep having boys? I just want a passel of boys. I saw two kids in Target with their Halloween costumes...the little girl had a princess one and the little boy had a zebra. I wanted to high five him for being infinitely cooler.

This is what Everett has done to me.
